Hello, I'll keep this short and sweet, but the following are a collection of pieces that I feel best represent me. Thank you for your consideration and please enjoy.

The Tiger

Its only wealth is power
Behold! The kingdom o' bone
And beneath the thorny bower
Lives the wild tiger, alone.

Red claws tread broken ground
The only colour in this place
Gnashing jackals circle 'round
Sharp smirks 'pon their face

Little tiger, little tiger
We promise you our skin
Shed yours to the last fibre
And with it become our kin

Oh! Little tiger, little fighter
Your amber brilliance do we shun
Little tiger, soon the wiser
Destroy the wretched sun

Little tiger ventures forth
To complete his worthy task
His travels take him north
From above a raven does ask

"Little tiger what do you seek?"
"Black Raven, to slay the sun."
Raucous laugther falls from beak
"Will the jackals' will be done?"

Gentle Dahlia, her petals dying
Beseeches him some dew
Her pleas send him crying
And she is born anew

Sweet petals unfurl one-by-one
"A boon I'll grant for you."
"Help me slay the sun."
"That I cannot do."

"A debt delayed, a debt unpaid
Is no better than a curse
To kill the one who saved me
Would only make it worse"

Little Tiger truly wiser
Returns to his bower
And there, sinful misers
Beheld newfound power

The tiger burns so bright
Wicked jackals set aflame
His scintillating might
The sun they could not tame

Untitled

You are a firework
An ephemeral beauty shining bright and so loud
Time will claim your silence
But until then you dance on a black stage
Your twirls explode colour

Dressed in eternity and ambivalence
The audience is unmoved
They've seen it all
But you don't give a damn that they don't
This dance is for you

You are a blaze
Of love and rage and hope and sadness and joy
And, and, and
You're so fit to burst with it all
So you do
Becoming an almighty conflagration of radiant defiance

The audience is silent
But it doesn't matter
If only for moments
The stage is awash in your colours

No One Talks About the Courage of Flowers

We laud their daintiness
Their beauty, their fragility
As though to deserve approval
Something needs to be safe
Lacking teeth

To have your potential entombed in a crushing womb
Shh, shh it's better here, the walls whisper
It's safe
Eternity is here
There's no need to leave
The walls don't lie
And yet, and yet

No.

It isn't easy to break free of oppressive stagnation
To leave the familiar to brave the unknown beyond
But you break, shatter
If only it ended here
But the battle to be is just beginning
It takes so much to build yourself into something
Grow, grow, grow

You pierce the world
The rains weep their joy to greet you
And you blossom, you blossom
Radiant and welcoming, still so soft for your trials
What else can we call you, but strong?

Untitled

I stand at the edge of the world and my heart
Disavows the silence
The sweat on my brow falls
Below, below, below
It's now or never
I take the plunge into liquid obsidian
The ultimate leap of faith
And...

My lips part to let it in
Its secrets slither between my thighs
And it whispers things I could never know but
Never want to end
I feel points along my jugular
Ah, the Black
It has teeth
But so do I
I bite back and taste dark velvet ephemeral eternity euphoric enigmas and
I come

To realise
It is the height of folly
To think the abyss is nothing
Empty
When I have never been more full
It bleeds so blissfully from me

But I do not know satisfaction
Could never want to know satisfaction
To undress mystery is to disrobe the universe
And my fingers shall never tire

Untitled

The raucous boom of dreadful thunder
A beating heart rent, torn asunder
And in the spaces of red between
Lie depths of pain veiled, unseen

A mirror shows one many things
The past, the present, what future brings
But fists of grief strike it, shattered
And what lies ahead hidden, scattered

And while those shards rest far below
The sun, he reaches, rays aglow
To light a path with all ability
Hope, hope, dwell not futilely

Walk this road of blades and stone
Have care, have courage you're not alone
Mend your heart of broken glass
And know that this too shall pass
